The Killaloe Sailing Club (KSC) organized its annual Regatta in a mixed bag sailing condition.

After savoring the success of the RS Inland championship around fifteen days back and the Junior Regatta the a week back in the last weekend 25 dinghies were on the water and all were trying to deal with sunny and almost flat calm conditions. It is then followed by a wet and a miserable day. The breezes of that day were strong and shifting that makes the racing condition exciting and unpredictable at the same time.

The met department forecasted that the weather will change later on Saturday, and it was, sure enough, for few brave who decided to camp on the club’s ground. The heavy rain of early morning of Sunday meant a soggy begin to the proceedings if the second day.

In the race the first place was secured by Alex Voye, who was sailing a Laser 1. The second position was taken by Bryan Bryce, he was sailing the RS 400 and third position was taken by Mike Harte who was sailing the Laser 1.

Alex Voye shared his sailing experience of the day and said, “It was really a difficult day. Nothing was moving and it was really disappointing. Still, the race remained on and we sailed with all hopes to win and got the result. It is a new and exciting experience all together. We learned a lot from it.”
